I read about this at this guy’s blog post which was twittered by Felicia Day.
The long and short of it is that if you get a direct message on twitter from someone, one of your friends… whoever, saying to check out this blog post about you, and then it sends you to the twitter login page. Guess what page you’re not really at? Yeah, so if you log in there, it’ll really log you in, but it’ll also send your credentials off to China somewhere. Then you’ll be sorry! So don’t do it. kthxbai.

So here I was, procrastinating, and I decided to check out www.purepwnage.com to see if they had any new episodes out yet. I love the show, but it seriously takes forever for them to release an episode, so I tend to tune out of it for a while so that way when I think of it down the road just maybe there’ll be a new episode!
Yeah, well, turns out Troy Dixon (who played the character “Tea-bag”) was killed in a car accident on December 6th 2008. See the purepwnage post on it here. Death is such a weird thing, you go through life planning on people still being there the next week, or month, or year, etc. and then BAM, they’re gone. So many loose ends that will just… wave in the breeze, hoping that someone will come along and tie them together. The part that sucks is that if you have a piece of string and you cut it in half, then tie it back together again, yes you have a single string again, but now it has this lumpy tumor thing in the middle and the ends that were once connected as one are going to fray and overall the string will be a little bit shorter than before. It’s just not the same…
I have yet to lose anyone I know personally at such a young age all unexpected-like and I’m not exactly looking forward to it either. Ok there’s been kids I went to high school with that I find out later died somewhere inbetween when we graduated and now, but I didn’t actually KNOW them.
Well anyways, blah blah mortality, blah blah this sucks, blah blah I should be reading.
Nose back to the grindstone…

Currently in a “tough concept” section so it’s taking me longer to read through it =/
Now pry yourself off the toilet and walk out in the cold so you can pass out on an air mattress. Fucking wonderful new year I had. Ok, ok. So it was good at first, great in fact, but then I went to another friend’s apartment after the ball dropped and then proceeded to drop the ball on good decisions. I should have gone with my first plan which was to have 2 drinks all night, and then drive home, wake up, go to work, study, etc. But no. I lost an entire day of studying because I was horribly horribly hung-over. I seriously can’t remember the last time I was blackout drunk and vomiting. It was quite some time ago, I’ll tell ya that. Not my plan at all. Now it’s back to studying ALL WEEKEND. 2 weeks left of work until I move out and start classes again. My plan is to finish reading and doing practice exams by Tuesday so I can take the CCNA-Voice exam on Wednesday.

So I’m sitting here reading the ccna-voice book when the author starts quoting the first matrix and making direct analogies between the movie and key telephony concepts. Then proceeds to mention that it’s not requred to watch the movie, but apparently 90% of the movie can be likened to the world of cisco. Lulz.

I’m slowing removing things that can distract me:
- AIM
- FusTP (not removing the service, but I’m just not monitoring it till I’m done studying)
- Video Games
- TV shows
- Movies
- Staying up late
- But not wordpress! I shall blog on, so the rest of you can watch me struggle to focus, but I shall be unable to distract myself with actual human communication!
The only exception to any of this, of course, is new years. I can’t just ignore new years cuz I’m reading. That’s… the lamest thing I’ve ever heard. So with that, I must read like a pro.

Ok, for reals – I’m going into uber study mode. So for those of you who like to distract me with crazyness like Xbox 360, or EverQuest, or World of Warcraft, or Magic: The Gathering, or drinking, or staying up late, or fixing your computer, or …. whatever else is infinitely more interesting than reading or studying or sleeping, stoppit! I did this before when I was studying for my CCNA, and I think with the exception of a couple other tasks that I need to complete, I’ll be able to focus primarily on reading and studying.
I say this with love, and by love I mean I don’t hate you, I’m just going to ignore you all / drop off the face of the earth until I pass this exam, then I can have a life again. So do not take offense that I don’t return calls, texts, emails, or tweets right away, as I’ll be waiting for a break in my studying to do so. This also means that I’ll be relying on extra admin support for FusTP so it doesn’t go unmaintained. This DOES NOT mean everyone ignore me forget I’m here – important things are still worth my attention like… our school is on fire or… you’re account is on hold cuz the SSC didn’t process your FAFSA, etc., etc. This DOES mean don’t bug me with trivial things that in the grand sceme of things aren’t important, I don’t need to know right now (knowledge that can wait to be shared), or really you’re not even looking for an input, you just wanted someone to talk at.
This is me attempting to win at co-op and IRL certs.
PS – Xmas was fun but waaaaaaaay too short and I did waaaaaaaaay too much work and I had to bring my drums home to stay until I move into my new apartment. Lame.
PPS – I rode my motorcycle yesterday cuz it was awesome out and it was awesome. It’s also awesome that my bike can out accelerate my straight-line traction when the road is wet.

New things are happening with FusTP! I just added ORB to my list of features. That’s right! Are you in a place where you can’t download things? Maybe you’re on a mobile device like your iPhone or iPod Touch? Worry no more! Orb is here to save the day with streaming of all pictures, video, and audio content stored on FusTP by YOU (or me). I will be e-mailing out the credentials for all members to use (so if I don’t have your e-mail address, I can’t e-mail you! oh noes! you should send an e-mail to administrator@cvgc.strangled.net to make sure I have your e-mail, as that’s part of the registration process now.)
Also the mail server is 100% up and running now, I just need to change the domain + domain controller. But that means exchange, outlook web access, imap, everything is working! I won’t be adding your accounts as a mailbox until the domain is fixed tho, so don’t get TOO excited, just know that it’s around the corner!
